Common Voip Mistakes
VoIP and its associated subsystems are great for a lot of different applications. If you need to integrate several different types of media and voice, then SIP trunking,–which is an essential part of any VoIP service–could be perfect for you. However, there are a few limitations to VoIP that should be kept in mind.
- Faxing over VoIP can be tough. The protocols used by VoIP services just are not designed to handle faxes. With SIP trunking it will be easier, but if your business relies on faxes, best to stick with what works.
- Most credit card machines won’t send. Much like fax machines, the analog modems used in credit card machines won’t always be able to send over VoIP. Codecs may be used to make it work, but it is not the best method.
- VoIP services require consistent internet connections. If your service is spotty, or unreliable it may not be well suited to VoIP. Extra bandwidth is also required, especially if VoIP is to be used as an office wide solution
- Hardware compatibility. Some computers may have trouble running VoIP software, or the application may close or quit unexpectedly. While this is relatively common for lots of different software applications, it should be considered when equipping an office with VoIP services.

What is SIP trunking?
SIP trunking is an advanced networking system that allows both data and voice to be sent over a single line. SIP was initally used by open source software architects for communication while developing different projects and software. Trunking allows a business and its staff to communicate via both voice and data from outside of the company’s internal network. Employees can use an internet protocal to communicate with the company, and can use the company’s network to use telephony services (telephone voice services) anywhere in the world.
SIP trunking is a protocol designed to facilitate peer to peer communications these can include voice calls, emails, texts, instant messaging, video conferencing, voice mails, faxes, and gaming.
What makes SIP trunking truly useful and revolutionary for companies and their employees, it that it can unify an individuals’ entire electronic media presence, and allows that individual to modify their presence as they see fit. Meaning, all texts, calls, e-mails, voice chats, SMS sessions etc. will be routed to the same user profile. The user can then take or reject communications as he or she wishes. SIP will connect cell phones, computers, tablets and all of the communications software they use together into one usable package.

Get the Most from Your VoIP Setup
Whether you are a business or a consumer, using VoIP is a little different than using an analog or digital phone. In order to get the best service possible from your VoIP line, you will need to optimize your setup in the home or office. When switching an office to VoIP, budget some time for implementation. You may find infrastructural or systemic issues that may require additional hardware or time to fix.
- Check the hardware: After you’ve sorted out what the implementation and form of your VoIP network is going to look like, check the hardware to be sure it can support a VoIP network. A VoIP optimized network will need routers and LANs that have enough bandwidth to support VoIP without depleting the quality. Make sure handsets can be powered by the Ethernet cable and have built in LAN ports.
- Use codecs: VoIP can function on a variety of codecs, but ensuring that your codec uses the least bandwidth possible is important to maximize resources on your network.
- Make training easy: The simpler training is, the faster employees will pick up on VoIP phone technology. Deployment across a company or small business will be easier if an effective training plan is laid out.

Convenient Internet Phone App
We’ve explained it before, but we can explain it again. ITP is a premier provider of VoIP services. VoIP stands for voice over internet protocol, and is one of the fastest growing segments of the telecommunications industry. VoIP allows you to connect to people around the world for far less money than ever before. Here at ITP we’re excited to announce our new VoIP apps for the iphone and android devices. This new internet phone software is a big leap foreward for us, and we hope, for consumers as well. With it, you’ll be able to download our app and then make calls around the world without having to use your regular provider’s service.
Our mobile VoIP app comes packed with features that will let you use 3g/4g wireless service to place phone calls via a voip client over your regular handset cell phone. Our rates are still great, and you gain access to other perks like 500 free USA minutes as well as being able to make your number ring to your home or office instead of your cell phone.
Our cheaper and more compact mobile call app lets you use cell phone service, not just 3g/4g wireless, to make calls internationally at the same great rate you enjoy under the mobile VoIP app. Think of it as a stripped down version that works without G wireless.

Get an International Number From Your Voip Phone Service
If you find yourself often making international phone calls from your current mobile phone or landline, an international number might be what you need to start getting the most out of your VoIP service. If you often are traveling or need to call your home country while in North America then maybe this plan is for you.
Your VoIP service may provide you with an international number, meaning your cell phone can be made to work internationally wherever there is service as long as you have enough data on your plan to complete the transimission.
The other way that international numbers may be used is a simple and easy trick that can save you the big bucks. Your VoIP service can supply you with a number with the same area code as the numbers you are most often calling.
Say you live in the United States but are often calling Germany, where you’re from. You can notify your VoIP phone service and for an additional fee they will set your number as a German number. This will enable you to use your cheap VoIP plan and phone service, while still being able to call whatever international local you may need to.

Internet Phone for Traveling
Whether you’re traveling overseas or just around the country, roaming charges can keep you from staying in touch with your friends and associates. If you’re not willing to suck it up and shell out crazy money just to place phone calls (on networks that are identical to the ones you operate on in your “home area”) then you’re out of luck for a calling solution. Kind of a bummer considering how important having a smart phone apparently is these days. Never fear, internet phone can help you stick it to the phone companies and have fun in the process.
Internet phone plans can be purchased for as little as ten dollars and include way more minutes per dollar than your average roaming plan from your cell company. All you need to do is download a mobile voip app and charge up your voip account. Then, contact your provider and buy some data for your trip. Usually a few megabytes will suffice, voip doesn’t take that much band-with. Now you’ll be able to make and receive calls while out of your calling range. It may not be free, but internet phone can make a vacation or business trip a much easier and more economical experience.

Call Forwarding And Three Way Calls
Business phone service has to include a number of features just to keep up with anyone in competition with you. These features are helpful, not just when courting and eventually serving customers, but they are also a vital communication tool within your actual organization.
Among the most important features of a phone system for businesses is the ability to forward calls and the very helpful three-way calling service. With these features you can more effectively and efficiently communicate a wide variety of things. You can utilize three-way calling to assure that both an employee and a manager are involved in customer calls. This will increase oversight and will ensure that someone is perpetually aware of any issues going forward. With call forwarding you can volley a customer around a number of departments rather than insisting that they call specific extensions.
The best thing about these two very important features is that they are available at a great price from ITP VoIP. This VoIP provider understands how to serve businesses and we avoid exploding costs for a company concerned with the bottom line.
These features are standard for any and all businesses. By extension, having them can be legitimizing for your company.

Internet Phone With Free Voicemail And Call I.D.
We have spoken frequently about the ways an internet phone line from ITP VoIP will help you replace your old land line service, save money and continue to use the phone as you always have. You have likely spent years dealing with not just your phone but a frustratingly antiquated answering machine. ITP VoIP offers you an easy to use voicemail service that will save you the trouble of all of that silly rewinding and your machine’s poor sound quality. Other absolutely free features of your internet phone service are caller I.D. and call waiting, standards that make communication more convenient for you.
The service itself is enough to make the switch to ITP VoIP. The price could sell you as well. Those things plus the aforementioned free perks and so much more, make switching to an internet-based land line into one of the smartest things a person can do. Have a phone with less stress and more stuff for less money. What more could you ask for?

ITP VoIP Over Big Phone Companies
Having an inexpensive alternative to the big phone companies is one of the things that Internet phone service really makes possible. ITP VoIP offers high quality phone service that is far cheaper than your average landline for business or personal use. It is a fantastic way to address the wide array of problems your current phone provider is failing to fix on a regular basis.
Those problems could be persistent technical standards not being met, problems with customer service, or simply paying too much money.
- Technical Problems: Some phone service is just not up to the standards we currently expect. There is noise and buzzing on different lines and interference caused by an old infrastructure. ITP VoIP’s phone service is clear as day.
- Customer Service: Most of the major phone companies are gigantic media empires. As a result they often have overextended customer service representatives with little power to troubleshoot a problem and even less knowledge about how to improve phone service. By comparison ITP VoIP can take the time to keep their customers happy and have knowledgeable staff that offer real guidance.
- Overwhelming Cost: Phone service just plain costs too much, but with ITP VoIP you can pay a very comfortable flat rate each month.

Internet Phone Will Not Slow The Internet
For some, the very idea of tying up their internet service with an internet phone is a bit of a non- starter. This is not the wisest way of looking at the growing industry of VoIP phone service. The option of setting up a service through ITP VoIP is not only inexpensive on a month to month basis, it is barely taxing on the now standard high speed internet connections most of us have in our homes.
With an internet phone, you can continue downloading large files and surfing the internet virtually unchanged. Even in the case of an internet phone call, the slow down is not much at all, though it might vary depending on equipment and connection speed. In the end, the value is clearly there. An internet phone allows you to stay in touch in much the same way all of those vitally important social networking sites do. The clear difference is that actual phone calls can often be far more efficient for setting up plans quickly.
Trying out an internet phone really will not have much of an effect on the quality of your internet service. What it will offer you is a clear alternative to persistent rambling instant message conversations and extended email chains.
